Top Gay Date Locations in San Francisco
Blog | March 17, 2015
San Francisco is a great place for an amazing date. There are so many adventurous things to do as well as enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way and also allowing you to share some quiet time with your date. Here are a few of my San Francisco favourites.
Yerba Buena

Stretching from 2nd to 5th and Market to Harrison Streets, the Yerba Buena Neighbourhood is one of San Francisco’s most dynamic areas. It is home to the most diverse and highest concentration of art galleries, museums and theatres in the city.
It has one of the most beautiful parks and gardens and offers a great shopping area as well as many amazing food options. Whether you decide to go for dinner or have a cocktail or go to the ballet you certainly won’t want to go home early. Nothing is more romantic then a picnic. Grab takeout from one of the amazing restaurants in the area and have a wonderful first date picnic.
Blush Wine Bar

The Castro is a neighbourhood in the Eureka Valley in San Francisco and was one of the first gay neighbourhoods in the United States. It has been one of the liveliest for decades. Blush is one of my favourite date spots in the Castro area. The wine bar is great and the atmosphere allows you to cozy up to your date on a comfortable couch. Blush offers a unique home for live music and arts. They have live music every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Evening and also display art work from local artists on their walls. Cozy up to your date on a comfortable couch or gaze into each other’s eyes across a candlelit table. While you are at it, enjoy some great food and wine.
Farina Pizzeria

If you are a pizza enthusiast like me, my favourite pizza spot is Farina Pizzeria. Not only is the pizza authentic Neapolitan style pizza but the atmosphere is casual, yet attractive with its white leather stools and marble bar. You are in a great spot and at a prime location for people watching in the Mission area. The true charm of the place comes from the outdoor patio on Valencia Street. I would recommend eating outside as there is nothing more romantic than dining under the stars and sharing a delicious meal with your date.
