New York has the largest LGBT community of all the cities in the United States. If you are new to New York and a Gay Male looking to meet a partner here are a few places you may want to explore.
• Chelsea is a neighbourhood on the West side of Manhattan in New York City. The neighbourhood is primarily residential and known to be an area that is home to a large gay population. It is also known as the centre of the New York art world, with over 200 galleries in the neighbourhood. One of the most recommended lounges in this area for gay males would be the Barracuda Lounge which is known to be a classic no attitude lounge. Barracuda draws a mellow mix and is quite laid back and friendly being a comfortable casual place for everyone.
• The Whole Foods in Tribeca is known to be a great place to meet other Gay Males. If you are healthy and fit and looking for someone else who leads a healthy lifestyle and cares about what he puts into his body here is a great place to go. It is located across the street from Goldman Sachs and the World Financial Centre. Go right after work and while picking up some fresh food you may be able to strike a conversation and pick up a great new guy for a drink.
• Velvet Gloves is New York City’s first Boxing Club for gay males. It was founded about a year and a half ago and is the first and only boxing club in New York City that caters specifically to gay men. In 2013 Orlando Cruz became the first professional fighter to come out while still active in the sport. To a lot of people boxing has the reputation of being a very violent intimidating sport but; at this Gym twice a week men of all ages and backgrounds and athletic abilities are able to come free from fear of judgement and practise their jabs and hooks. It is a great social club for those who are looking to meet other likeminded gay males who are not into the current social scene in New York and want to try something different. If you are athletically inclined or just wanting to learn how to throw a punch this is a great place to meet new people.
